Madison graduated from Montana State University with her B.S. in Microbiology in 2019. Afterwards, she received a Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award to work at the NIH campus in Hamilton, MT where she joined a project that involved tracking the prevalence of pathogenic zoonotic viruses. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, her team shifted to developing a lethal animal model of SARS CoV-2 infection. After this fellowship, Madison worked as an legislative organizer and lobbyist for Montana-based non-profit on climate related issues. Madison then completed her M.S. in Microbiology and Immunology at Montana State in 2022.

In her free time, Madison volunteers with the Bridger Ski Foundation as a Nordic Intro coach and with Bozeman Youth Cycling as a youth bike coach.
