THRIVING TOGETHER
As part of our comprehensive prevention program for new students, Montana State University
requires all incoming students to complete Thriving Together. This online training
is designed to help build a campus culture of safety and well-being and to help you
and your peers thrive in your new campus community. This training addresses campus
safety topics such as sexual assault prevention, substance use prevention, hazing,
and mental health issues, including strategies to address these issues in healthy
ways. This training does not include explicit descriptions and has been designed with
an intentionally trauma-informed approach.

How to Access and Complete Thriving TogetherYour Thriving Together training will automatically load in your Canvas dashboard. This course is required for all new students at Montana State University and all other campuses in the Montana University System (MUS). The course will take approximately 60 to 75 minutes to complete.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Drug Free Schools and Communities Act and Title IX require education on alcohol and other drugs and sexual assault prevention for all members of our campus community. All students across the country are required to learn about issues related to campus safety and to be provided information about campus policies and processes to support them if issues arise.
You are not required to complete the course twice. If you have previously completed Thriving Together at another Montana University System institution, you do not need to repeat the training at Montana State University.
*Note: If you have previously completed Vector Solutions: AlcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention for Adult Learners, the prevention team will accept proof of completion through Spring 2028.

Yes, Thriving Together is committed to ensuring that all students are able to access and experience their courses. The program is in compliance with the guidelines and standards put forth by the Web Content Accessiblity Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The WCAG 2.0 covers a wide range of recommendations for making Web content accessible to individuals with disabilities, including, but not limited to, visual impairment, hearing impairment, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity, and combinations of these.
