Faculty Learning Communities
Spring 2022 Faculty Discussion Groups
The MSU Writing Center invites all interested faculty to join a discussion group based on selected articles that identify practices to help build successful writing mentorship relationships with the intended outcome of increased publication submissions and a less stressful doctoral writing and revising process for all parties.
The discussion group will meet informally over lunch at the Wilson Hall Writing Center over the course of three weeks. Discussions will build upon one another, but it is not necessary to attend all three. Participants will be asked to read an article before each lunch to prompt discussion about how to incorporate mentoring practices into specific contexts. Lunch will be provided.
Our hope is that the discussion from this group will help us develop a Mentoring Graduate Student Writers Learning Community beginning in Fall 2023. Your participation will help guide our understanding of what will be most beneficial to faculty and graduate students.
