Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
On November 22, 2016 a federal court in Texas issued an order that makes it uncertain how the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime pay exemptions apply to employees who would be impacted by the new rules that were to go into effect on December 1, 2016.
In order to ensure MSU’s compliance with the FLSA, we are reevaluating our current policies and developing an appropriate plan. Our website will continue to be updated as more information is obtained. At this point in time the current FLSA law remains in effect.
Human Resources will continue to provide Supervisor Training Sessions, as well as Employee Information Sessions, to ensure we are in compliance with the current FLSA law.
