Biographical Sketch

Montana State University is more than a great place to get a degree. Sure, the buildings are full of caring and talented faculty and staff who are committed to helping students reach their goals, complete their degrees, and take their place in the world. But it is the intangibles that make MSU so much more.

A sense of optimism permeates the air. Our people are ambitious, hard-working and committed. They are warm and passionate and together create a friendly, supportive atmosphere. They are adventurous, fueled by a good challenge and motivated by the opportunity to become leaders among leaders.

In extension offices, experiment stations, classrooms and laboratories across the state and beyond, our people build solid communities as they work, study and play. They volunteer, share expertise and collaborate with partners. They are open-minded and come from all backgrounds and cultures.

They share high values, a spirit of collaboration and hope for a better future. They relish the natural beauty of our majestic mountains and rolling plains. They are inspired by each other.

As president of Montana State University, it is my honor to be a part of the people of Montana State University. It is empowering. I invite you to see for yourself why our alumni, students, employees and friends proudly wear our colors. Please be my guest as you view our Web site, or better yet, visit us personally. MSU is more than a place to get a degree. Let it be part of your journey, no matter your destination.

Sincerely,

Geoff Gamble
President
