Vice President of Agriculture Candidate Open Forum: Dr. Tim Murray

Five finalists from regional universities will interview for MSU’s vice president of agriculture position from Oct. 22 – Oct. 30.
Murray is a professor of plant pathology in the department of plant pathology at Washington State University. He received a bachelor’s degree in plant science from the University of California Davis, and master’s and doctoral degrees in plant pathology from Washington State University. Murray is a past president and fellow of the American Phytopathological Society, Guest Professor at Jilin Agricultural University, Changchun, China, Honorary Research Fellow, Bioversity International, and a member of the Agropolis Fondation Science Council. Murray has served on numerous national and international committees and boards. He is the author of “A Colour Handbook of Diseases of Small Grain Cereal Crops”, co-editor of “The Encyclopedia of Plant Pathology”, “Compendium of Wheat Diseases, and Pests” and an author of numerous scientific publications.
A reception for Murray will be held from 5 -6 p.m. in room 108 of the Plant Biosciences Building.
The interviews will be held on Oct. 22 – Oct. 30 on campus. As part of that visit to campus, each finalist will hold an open forum with faculty and staff, in addition to an open reception of the day of their visit. The finalists' CVs can be found at:
