MSU School of Music Faculty Concert

MSU music faculty, students, alumni and outstanding community musicians from the Bozeman Symphony and Intermountain Opera will collaborate on a live performance of the landmark 20th Century chamber work Music for Eighteen Musicians by Steve Reich.
This hour-long work features highly-patterned layers of sound that slowly move through eleven formative harmonies. Unique and gigantic in instrumentation, the ensemble for this piece has no conductor, but features 4 grand pianos, 6 mallet keyboard instruments, winds , voices and strings.
Musicians include SOM faculty Eric Funk, Angella Ahn, Julia Cory-Slovarp, Stephen Versaevel, Jeff Vick, Greg Young, Tobin Stewart and Laurel Yost. Student percussion performers, singers Krista Barnett, Rachel Osen, Catherine Savery and Jeni Fleming will join the ensemble.
The performance is at 7:30 on Saturday, November 1st, in Reynolds Recital Hall at Howard Hall on the MSU-Bozeman campus.
Admission is $10 General, $5 Student. Tickets available at the door.
