Friends of MSU Library Benefit Dinner and Auction

The Friends of MSU Library are pleased to present their 21st annual Benefit Dinner and Auction on Saturday, November 1, 2014 in the MSU Library. A silent auction and social hour with no-host bar will begin at 6:00 p.m. with dinner and a live drive to follow at 7:00 p.m. New York Times bestselling author Walter Kirn will present "Con Men, Impostors, and Sociopaths: How to spot them in the wild!" at 8:30 p.m.

Kirn is the author of eight books and an e-book. His most recent work, Blood Will Out, is a memoir of his friendship with con artist and murderer Clark Rockefeller. In a starred review, Publishers Weekly declares that the book "deserves to become a classic."
Kirn's other books include Up in the Air, which is now an Academy Award-nominated film starring George Clooney, and Thumbsucker, which is now a major motion picture starring Tilda Swinton. Kirn's work has also appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, and GQ, among other publications. He lives in Livingston.
Auction items at the event include a dinner for eight with MSU President Waded Cruzado, passes to the Museum of the Rockies, artwork by local artist and printmaker Sarah Angst, wine from Mahoney Estate Winery in Napa, Calif., and cheesecake for a year.
Social Hour music will be provided by Craig Hall and Colleen Schmidt.
