INTERNATIONAL CONCERT TO TRAVEL TO MSU
The International Alliance for Women in Music will present its annual concert in Reynolds Recital Hall at MSU-Bozeman on Sunday, October 26 at 3 PM.
This concert will feature electronic works by women composers from around the world. These pieces were selected by judges in one of the IAWM's international call for scores, and the concert is being presented in multiple venues as part of the alliance's mission to increase audience exposure to women in music.
The concert in Bozeman will also present works by MSU composers and performers that have ties to women in music, including works by faculty members Carrie Leigh Page, Linda Antas, and Eric Funk, and featuring performances by Elizabeth Croy and Julie Gosswiller.
The International Alliance for Women in Music (IAWM) is a global network of women and men working to increase and enhance musical activities and opportunities and to promote all aspects of the music of women. The IAWM builds awareness of women's contributions to musical life through publications, website, free listserv, international competitions for researchers and composers, conferences, and congresses, concerts, the entrepreneurial efforts of its members, and advocacy work. IAWM activities ensure that the progress women have made in every aspect of musical life will continue to flourish and multiply.
