MSU School of Film and Photography presents This Is Our Youth, by Kenneth Lonergan and directed by Tom Watson at the Black Box Theater on the MSU campus Bozeman, April 1st, 2nd, 8th,9th, 15th, 16th at 7:30pm. The play takes place in 1982, on Manhattan’s Upper Wets Side. The wealthy, articulate pot-smoking teenagers who were small children in the 60’s have emerged as young adults in a country that has just resoundingly rejected everything they were brought up to believe in. This Is Our Youth is a living snapshot of the moment between adolescence and adulthood when many young people first go out into the world on their own, armed only with the ideas and techniques they develop as teenagers – ideas and techniques far more sophisticated than their parents ever realize, and far less effective than they themselves can possibly imagine.
This MSU production is a collaboration of creative talents and mentorship from four different departments, including faculty and students from the School of Film and Photography, School of Music, Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and the Honors College. Tickets are on sale at the VCB front desk, Interstate Bank in the SUB on campus, and at the box office door the night of performances. Performance includes adult themes, references of drug use, and vulgar language.
General Admission $14, Student/Senior Citizen $12
