With Jackson Hole Grizzly 399 still alive at age 20 and navigating a gauntlet of dangers, we don't knowif she will emerge from her den next spring. If yes, will it be with a final batch of cubs at her side?Over the course of her life, 399 has 16 descendants, half of which have died in various kinds oflethal run-ins with people. Her life provides a window into the very controversial topic of whetherthe Greater Yellowstone grizzly population should be removed from federal protection after 41years safeguarded under the shield of the Endangered Species Act. The night will featureimages from globally renowned photographer Thomas Mangelsen who together with Bozeman authorTodd Wilkinson produced the award-winning book, "Grizzlies of Pilgrim Creek."
