In Fall 2016, incoming first-year MSU students were asked to share their reasons for pursuing a college degree and how they define success. We will share findings from this research and discuss implications in terms of how faculty and staff may help students tap into their curiosity and creativity, clarify major & career goals, and develop a vocational identity. This presentation will be in workshop format. Whether you are a faculty member who interacts with students primarily in the classroom and office hours or a staff member whose connections with students take place outside a classroom, this workshop is for you.
Please come prepared to think creatively about how faculty and staff can meet students where they are and help them envision their future.
