- Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm
- Marga Hosaeus Fitness Center, Massage room - view map
The first workshop in the Exploring Wellness series at the Hosaeus Fitness Center will be Fundamentals of KT Taping taught by certified massage therapist Whitney Truscott.
Accumulation under the skin of lymphatic fluids caused by injury or overuse may increase pressure on muscles and tissues which can cause significant discomfort or pain. KT tape is an elastic sports tape designed to relieve pain while supporting muscles, tendons, and ligaments by lifting the skin and decompressing the layer of fascia to allow for greater movement of lymphatic fluid. Correct taping also provides support to muscles by improving the muscle's ability to contract, even when it is weak, and helps the muscle to not overextend or over-contract.
The class is 1 hour in duration and located in the Hosaeus Fitness Center's massage room. The cost is $5 and pre-registration is required.
