The Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship (JJCBE) in partnership with UM and AUIP Study Abroad will present "Global Perspectives: New Zealand and Australia - Business, Sustainability and the Natural Environment" on Friday, October 5 from 5:00-6:00 pm in Jabs Hall 207. Students in all majors are invited.
About the presentation:
Australia and New Zealand are part of the same region (Australasia), but in many ways the two countries are very different. Despite these differences, both countries recognize the need for and have put into place initiatives for managing economic development to minimize or avoid environmental degradation.
During this presentation, we will focus on sustainable development and explore the relationship between people, businesses, and their natural environment. We will also consider the different cultures that make up modern New Zealand and Australia, and explore some of the natural environment for which New Zealand and Australia are most famous.
In addition to this captivating glimpse into the "World Down Under," interested students will learn how to apply to participate in MSU’s new 2019 summer study abroad program to New Zealand and Australia and what to expect during this experiential and active learning program that is relevant and open to students from across the university.
Speakers: Dr. Simona Stan (webcast), associate professor at UM and Mary Ogburn, the International Programs and Development Director of AUIP Study Abroad (visiting from Christchurch, New Zealand).
