2018 MSU Snow and Avalanche Workshop: Planning for Powder: How does your day roll?
- Monday, November 26, 2018 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm
- Strand Union Building, Ballroom A - view map
The goal of this year’s MSU SAW is to learn from professionals about how they approach their day's actions. The idea is that if we understand how pros plan and conduct their day we can apply some of those lessons to our days in the backcountry. In addition, we provide some background on what goes on behind the scene at ski areas, forecast centers, and guiding. The implication is that the recreation community can learn from those who weigh risk every day.
Schedule of Events:
- 5-6 p.m. Social Hour - Visit with vendors, sign up for an avalanche class, buy raffle tickets, light snacks provided
- 6-9 p.m. - Speakers and Discussion: What can we learn from professionals? (Raffle prize giveaways throughout!)
