MSU's Goldwater Scholars' panel, Dec. 6
- Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm
Montana State University’s Honors College will host a panel discussion with four winners of the Goldwater Scholarship from noon to 1 pm on Thursday, Dec. 6 in the Procrastinator Theater of MSU’s Strand Union Building.
Named after U.S. Sen. Barry Goldwater, “who served his country for 56 years as a solider and statesman, including 30 years in the U.S. Senate,” the scholarship is the nation’s most well-known and prestigious scholarship for undergraduate students majoring in the natural sciences, engineering and mathematics. Students receive up to $7,500 per year for tuition, books, room and board.
The panel will feature MSU undergraduate winners: 2018 recipients Cara Robertus and Ryan Mason, who are both majoring in chemical and biological engineering; 2017 recipient Maggie Russell, who is majoring in mathematics; and 1998 recipient Casey Smith, who majored in physics.
The scholars will make brief presentations followed by Q&A from the audience.
