The Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship in partnership with the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation, is pleased to announce its spring Orser speaker, Vu Le. Vu is a writer, speaker, blogger, and executive director of Rainier Valley Corps, a nonprofit in Seattle that promotes social justice by developing leaders of color, strengthening organizations led by communities of color, and fostering collaboration between diverse communities.
He will present "Effective Leadership and Strategies for Non-profit Success," which will address topics related to leadership and working within the nonprofit sector on Thursday, March 28 at 5:00 pm in Norm Asbjornson Hall's Inspiration Hall on the MSU campus.
This event is free and open to the public.
Vu’s passion to make the world better while recognizing the humor in daily tasks. In his time working in the nonprofit sector, he learned that “we should take the work seriously, but not ourselves”.
Known for his no-BS approach, irreverent sense of humor, and love of unicorns, Vu has been featured in many of his own blog posts at NonprofitAF.com. NonprofitAF brutally examines issues that nonprofits deal with but punctuates it with humor and relatable pop culture references.
He has been the keynote speaker at the annual Montana Nonprofit Association conference and was one of The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s 40 under 40.
Vu earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master of social work, both from Washington University in St. Louis.
The Orser Executive Speakers Forum is a continuing component of a program begun in 1988 to bring leaders to the College of Business to inspire students, so that they might enthusiastically pursue careers as innovative, responsible and ethical business leaders.
Interested individuals are encouraged to RSVP.
A short reception hosted by Association of Fundraising Professionals' Montana Chapter will follow the talk.
