"Architected materials with bi-continuous topologies: fabrication, properties and applications" presented by Dr. Lorenzo Valdevit, Dr. Elliot Botvinick and Dr. Ali Mohraz, UC Irvine School of Engineering ~ each with a common interest in spinodal structures.
Dr. Mohraz is a Chemical Engineer working on colloidal science and will begin the seminar on bijels processing and transport/electrochemical properties. Dr. Valdevit, a Materials Scientist interested in architected materials, metamaterials and additive manufacturing will talk about their mechanical behavior. Dr. Botvinick, a Biomedical Engineer working on medical devices and chemo-mechano-transduction in cells can discuss their biomedical applications.
