Samantha White, Psy. D. is a licensed psychologist at MSU Counseling and Psychological Services. Sam enjoys working with the MSU community. She came to Bozeman after grad school in Chicago almost 10 years ago. She has trained with the UCSD Center for Mindfulness and leads mindfulness groups as well as Mindful Eating workshops for students on campus. She enjoys cross country skiing, yoga, reading and being outside whenever possible.
Both an ancient practice as well as a “hot trend,” mindfulness has been extensively studied and shown to have benefits ranging from decreased stress, anxiety and depression to increased working memory and immune functioning. If you have been curious what mindfulness is all about, or tried it but not sure you’re “getting it,” come to this interactive session where we’ll discuss as well as practice mindfulness techniques and provide support for continuing your practice at home.
