Diversity, Inclusion and Student Commons (DISC) and Honors College “Free Speech and Hate Speech: A Panel and Dialogue” The DISC is student run organization which provides a common and safe place for culture, space and community convergence. The name Student Commons reflects MSU's commitment to inclusion, aligns with the diversity and inclusion framework, and represents the collective and collaborative way the university addresses inclusion. The Diversity and Inclusion Student Commons promotes inclusion and understanding of difference, supports students from underrepresented identity groups, and encourages critical thinking about diversity topics.
The DISC and Honors College are collaboratively presenting the “Free Speech: A Panel and Dialogue”, where a panel of prominent student and faculty leaders will be discussing the intersections and complexities of free speech and hate speech on college campuses. Panelists will draw from personal and observed experiences as well as historic and current events involving free speech, hate speech and its impact in order to shed light on our rights and responsibilities when it comes to America's constitutional rights.
