Bicycle Parking Modifications at Roberts and Cobleigh Halls
Starting the third week in October (10/21-10/25), MSU will be upgrading the bicycle parking around Cobleigh and Roberts Halls. In order to smoothly and quickly replace the existing Cobleigh Hall racks with high density bicycle racks, users will be asked to remove their bicycles for the duration of the exchange. Exact dates will be indicated by signs placed on or next to the current racks.
The American Indian Hall (AIH) project has constricted the space on the north side of Roberts Hall. Use of sidewalks and bike parking have been compromised, creating safety and operational concerns. To address this, all the bike racks at the north side of Roberts Hall will be removed and relocated. A Personal Mobility Device (PMD) dismount zone will also go into effect on the sidewalk north of Roberts Hall for the duration of American Indian Hall (AIH) construction. A new, lighted bicycle path has been paved just north of the AIH construction area for those riders who wish to avoid the dismount zone.
We are looking forward to increasing the quantity and quality of bicycle parking around Roberts and Cobleigh Halls and improving pedestrian and cyclist safety. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact EJ Hook, the Director of Facilities Services at 994-7840.
