The School of Architecture Comprehensive Design Studio, ARCH 558, presents a series of net-zero energy building designs for three project types: Mining Heritage Museum, National Forest Interpretive/Visitor Center and Library of Things.
Project designs utilized the concept of triple bottom line—measuring financial, social and environmental success-as well as the Ten Measures of Sustainability for the AIA Committee on the Environment Top Ten for Students design competition. These measures include Design for Integration, Community, Ecology, Water, Economy, Energy, Wellness, Resources and Change. Locations for these hypothetical projects include Butte, Lava Lake and Bozeman.
