AMC 10/12A: American Mathematics Contest for High Schoolers
- Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm
The Science Math Resource Center will host a mathematics competition for youth on the Montana State University Campus on Thursday, Jan. 30 and again on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
This competition is free, and cash prizes will be awarded.
AMC 10 is for students in grade 10 and under; AMC 12 is for students in grade 12 and under.
Both exams are 25-question, 75-minute mathematics exams designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.
The 10/12 A test will be given Jan. 30 and the 10/12 B test is Feb. 5. Both the A and the B versions have the same number of questions, the same scoring and the same rules for administration. The only differences are the competition dates and that each version has a distinct set of questions, although the two examinations are designed to be equal in difficulty and distribution of topics.
The Science Math Resource Center will award $100 to first place; $75 for second; and $50 for third.
