Mental Health Summit
- Monday, February 24, 2020 from 7:30pm to 9:00pm
- SUB Ballroom B
The Office of Student Engagement is partnering with campus health services to host The Summit: Exploring the Peaks and Valleys of Mental Health, an event on February 24th from 7:30 to 9pm on campus designed to feature student narratives on their experiences with mental health. Students are encouraged to apply to speak for 5-10 minutes at this event and share with other students and community members the good, the bad, and the ugly of personal mental health in an informal setting. The intent of this event is to inspire those struggling to seek help and to de-stigmatize mental health issues for a better campus culture. We encourage students of all backgrounds to apply to speak.
The call for entry will be open until February 3rd. Nothing is off limits and we will be contacting individuals for call-backs in early February. Counseling services will review applications to make sure material is appropriate and in good faith. If you would like to speak, please RSVP to the event and provide some details about why you want to present.
I am happy to supply more information to those interested and to share more information and answer questions! More information will be coming soon along with an official application. I look forward to hearing from you!
