Honors Presents Montanathon: "A Conversation with Mental Health in Montana"
- Monday, February 3, 2020 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm
- Inspiration Hall (NAH 201)
Montanathon is a student-led organization at MSU that fundraisers and shows support for the kids at Shodair's Children Hospital in Helena, Montana. We are committed to raising awareness of their fight against mental illness and rare genetic disorders. At the end of the year, we dance for six hours to celebrate, show support, and finish off fundraising. This panel will have the CEO of Shodair, Craig Aasved, the Medical Director of Psychiatry, Keith Foster, MD, an executive member of Dance Marathon, and a special guest to speak on their experiences with mental health in Montana.
This panel will discuss mental health in Montana, focusing on adolescent needs throughout the state, access to care in crisis, fighting the stigma of mental illness, and the panel member's personal experiences surrounding mental health.
