In this presentation, student leaders of the HEART Initiative at MSU, Alena Haugo and Tessa Sawyer, hope to demonstrate how systems of power intersect with human trafficking through the targeting of vulnerable populations. Race, gender, ethnicity, age, and disability statuses of those impacted all factor in to the success of the trafficking industry and the exploitation of millions of humans.
