Do something different next year! Exchange to another school in the US (including Alaska and Hawaii), Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands for a summer, semester, or year. Take new classes. Meet new people. Have new adventures. NSE is affordable; most students pay MSU tuition (or in-state tuition to their host school), receive financial aid, and all students will earn credits toward their degree. All eligible students are welcome to apply, including DACA and international students.
Looking to improve your foreign language skills? There are French-speaking opportunities in Canada and Spanish-speaking opportunities in Puerto Rico.
Interested in attending a Historically Black College/University (HBCU)?
Or perhaps study marine biology in Florida, California, Alaska or Hawaii?
Study art or politics in a major metropolitian area? The opportunities to expand your education are endless.

In 1968, a very tumultuous time in our history, a few forward-thinking campus officials in Alabama, Illinois, and Montana had the idea that U.S. students could benefit from getting out of their comfort zone by exchanging to another campus in the U.S. to better understand the vast regional and cultural differences that existed within our country. Fifty years and 160+ campuses later, National Student Exchange (NSE) is just as relevant today as it was in 1968.
