CBE Seminar: Biofilm in healthcare and the food industry

Dr. Darla Goeres is an associate research professor of chemical and biological engineering at Montana State University, where she is a principle investigator at the Center for Biofilm Engineering’s Standardized Biofilm Methods Lab. She has more than 20 years of experience researching biofilm bacteria in industrial systems. She has evaluated various treatment strategies for killing, removing and/or preventing biofilm formation. Diane Walker is a principle investigator with the CBE’s Standardized Biofilm Methods Lab, where she develops and works on industry-sponsored projects.
At this week's seminar, Darla and Diane will talk about work that they recently presented at CBE's Biofilm Technologies: Pathways to Product Development meeting in Washington, D.C. Darla will present “Evaluating performance criteria for the cleanliness of reusable medical devices,” Diane will discuss “Dry biofilms: Challenges of recognition and eradication.”
