Miles will defend his thesis project, which entailed the creation of a science communication company. He will discuss the fields of science communication, entomology, and public policy, along with how The Ant Network’s approach to communicating science with insect ambassadors could reinvigorate life sciences education in a time where teaching is increasingly technology-based and lacking hands-on stimulation. During the course of his undergraduate career at Montana State University, Miles has studied ants in Madagascar, assisted the National Park Service in understanding how insect diversity is affected by climate change, represented Montana in Washington D.C. with the Henry Clay Center for Statesmanship, and has been recognized by President Cruzado during MSU’s Year of Undergraduate Research.
