The Diversity and Inclusion Student Commons (DISC) has expanded their identity-based mentoring to recruit and include MSU students, staff and faculty of various backgrounds and identities, including but not limited to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ identities.
The AIM Program pairs upperclass students, faculty, and staff who are secure in their diverse identities with new, incoming students needing support. Mentors help students become more secure in their identities as well as provide social, emotional, and academic support.
Throughout the year, DISC hosts group events like pumpkin carving, gingerbread house crafting, and nights at the SUB Rec Center! That may look a little different this year, so stay tuned via the DISC website and CatsConnect. All MSU students of all ages are welcome and encouraged to join as mentees, and MSU students in their third year and above, faculty, and staff can apply as mentors!
Watch for the link to apply in August or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information!
