Why Should We Care if Girls Like Math?
SUB 168 Noon-1 p.m.
Nearly two decades have passed since a mass-produced Barbie Doll caught flak for saying "Math class is tough." However, the perception (or is it reality?) that girls don't like math persists. Join Suzi Taylor, Director of the MSU Science Math Resource Center, and discover why math is considered "the most misunderstood subject," look at trends for girls and women in math, examine some suprising data about women's attitudes towards math worldwide, and decide whether Hollywod is with us or against us!
***This seminar is limited to 15 participants, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.*****
