Title.Symplectic Geometry: 1700s--todayAbstract.In this talk I will overview some aspects of symplectic geometry by way of examples. Symplectic geometry is the geometry that governs classical mechanical systems (a la Hamilton). I will discuss special submanifolds of symplectic manifolds, and give a slew of examples of such Lagrangian submanifolds. Finally, I will discuss how symplectic geometry may be ``derived" into graded symplectic structures. As will be discussed, one approach to perturbative quantization of classical mechanics is through derived symplectic geometry.
