CBE Virtual Seminar: Modelling spatial structure transitions in growing bacterial biofilms
- Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 4:10pm to 5:00pm
Dr. Rosalind Allen is a professor of biological physics at the School of Physics and Astronomy at Edinburgh University. Her research focuses on biological and soft condensed matter physics, using simulations, theory and experiments. She is particularly interested in applying ideas and methods from physics to the important emerging biological question of how microbial populations develop, interact and function as ecosystems. Her talk will highlight work on spatial patterning and self-assembly in biofilms using individual-based computer simulations.
