CBE Seminar: Dr. Maryam Salehi
- Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 4:10pm to 5:00pm
Dr. Maryam Salehi is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Memphis, where she conducts multidisciplinary research at the interface of material science and environmental engineering with the goal of protecting public health. Her research focuses on water quality, including stormwater, drinking water and microplastics transport in agricultural soil.
Her talk “Investigating the role of biofilm, plastic surface aging, and water chemistry on lead deposition and the release from plastics,” will highlight work on lead fate and transport through plastic plumbing materials as she explores the coupled physical, biological, and chemical processes that control its deposition and release.
