Join us for an online community event featuring Dr. Maya Goldenberg, University of Guelph, and Matt Kelley, Gallatin Valley Public Health Officer.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, pediatric vaccine hesitancy was on the rise in the U.S. and other countries. Worldwide measles cases rose 300% in 2019 and there was a 50% increase in worldwide measles deaths between 2016-2019. Now, with the COVID-19 vaccines, a significant number of individuals have expressed concerns about the vaccines or decided not to get it.
Vaccine hesitancy is particularly pronounced in certain groups, including both people of color and white men (often for very distinct reasons). This interactive event will focus on understanding the various factors that lead to vaccine hesitancy in different populations, what we can do to address it, and the state of COVID-19 vaccinations here locally in Gallatin County.
This event is free and open to the public and there will be time for Q & A following the two presentations. No registration is necessary.
