CBE Seminar: Electrochemical control of wound biofilm infections
When:
- Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 4:10pm to 5:00pm
Where:
- WebEx
Description:
-
Dr. Haluk Beyenal is the Paul Hohenschuh Distinguished Professor in the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering at Washington State University. Haluk leads the Biofilm Engineering Research Group and organizes the Biofilm Summer School at WSU with short courses in electrochemically active biofilms, fundamentals of biofilm research and microsensor manufacture and application. His research covers electrochemically active biofilms, electron transfer mechanisms, biofilm wound interactions in the presence of hyperosmotic agents. He also conducts field work studying chemical gradients in Hot Lake microbial mats as well as microscale reactions in the subsurface sediments at the Hanford 300 area. Haluk’s talk will focus on new discoveries his group has made on electrochemical wound healing.
