World-renowned organic producer Bob Quinn will share reflections on the major challenges and opportunities for scientific discovery, research and technology innovation shaping Montana’s food and fuel security.
Bob Quinn is a fourth generation Montana farmer, a leader in organics in Montana and the world, and has been growing Kamut® Wheat since 1987. In 1991 his farm was one of the first 100% organically certified farms in Montana. Bob is an active researcher, experimenting with organic methods on his farm leading to a PhD in plant biochemistry. He won the Organic Trade Association’s Organic Leadership Award in 2010 for his contributions in the “Growing Organic Agriculture” category. In 2018 he retired from large scale farming to focus on growing all his own food on four acres. He published “Grain by Grain” in 2019 with Liz Carlise and is currently finishing a yearlong promotional effort, including a book tour throughout the country.
