A.S.I.A. - Diwali Celebration
- Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm
- Norm Asbjornson Hall Room 137
Diwali-a festival of lights is one of the largest festivals in South Asia. It is celebrated with great grandeur across five days by people of different faiths. Traditional celebrations involve lighting earthen lamps called 'Diyas' at homes, bursting fire crackers, creating colorful patterns to decorate homes known as 'Rangoli', and having a lavish feast with friends and family.
This year, A.S.I.A. is excited to host Diwali celebrations right here on campus! We will have members making beautiful Rangoli designs and adorning the room with traditional Diyas. Other planned events include a presentation on the significance and origin of Diwali, listening to some vibrant Bollywood music, and finally eating some delicious Indian food from a local restaurant.
