  1. I will participate in my Club/chapter activities as required to maintain the status of "member in good standing".

 

  1. I will send or deliver this signed contract to the Custer County Extension Office postmarked or emailed on or before the tagging ownership date of the species that I will be marketing.

 

  1. I will have my animal(s) in possession by the following dates. Beef January 1, Sheep, Goat and Swine June 1 and present my animal for weigh-in and ownership tagging on the date established and advertised for each species.

 

  1. I will keep all required records following the criteria established by either 4-H or FFA and submit my record sheets and manuals as required:

 

    1. Animal project records will be reviewed and signed off on your fair entry form as "up to date" by a Livestock/Club leader or Chapter Advisor prior to the fair entry deadline for 4-H and FFA projects
    2. Failure to have your fair entry signed by a leader/advisor and turned into the Custer County Extension Office prior to the entry date will result in a rejection of your entry and result in disqualification from the show/sale.

 

  1. I understand I will need to participate and complete Market Animal Quality Assurance training once as a Junior Exhibitor and once as a Senior Exhibitor to remain certified. I will report to the Livestock Committee if my market animal or animals have chronic bloating, lameness or swelling while it has been in my care. I agree to follow Quality Assurance practices and that all withdrawal periods for drugs will be adhered to. If is determined that my animal or animals are deemed to be not saleable that they will not participate in the market sale at the Eastern Montana Fair. If through post-harvest inspection my animal(s) carcass is condemned, I will be responsible for the loss and not the

 

  1. I understand the livestock sale expense deductions as approved by the Livestock Council will be deducted from my sale check and will be calculated as a percentage of the entire sale proceeds to generate income adequate to cover all costs of conducting the sale including carcass evaluation, auctioneer cost, advertising, etc.

 

  1. Learning and activity requirements:
    1. As a 4-H Member will complete seven learning activities either from my project manual or approved other learning activities with written write up of what you did and what you learned per market animal.
    2. As an FFA member I will comply with all of the school eligibility requirements and the requirements to maintain. my Market animal SAE project as established by FFA Advisor of the FFA chapter. .

 

  1. I will attend the mandatory exhibitor meeting ½ hour prior to the scheduled start of market animal weigh in, failure to sign into this meeting will result in disqualification from the sale.

 

  1. During the fair, I will complete all information on the provided stall card and display it in its respective place, compete in the appropriate showmanship contest, and ensure that my animal is properly fed, watered and their pen is always clean. I understand the it is my responsibility to care for my animal from the time it arrives at the fair until it is loaded for delivery to the destination designated by the I understand that in some instances I may be required to take my animal home and properly care for it until the processor can schedule it for harvest.

I understand failure to complete the above items will result in not being able to exhibit or sell my market animal at the current Eastern Montana Fair sale.
