This annual professional development training for clerks, treasurers, and finance officers is designed to support you in your important and varied roles within your town or city through:

  • Timely workshops, information, and tools you need to effectively meet the responsibilities and challenges of your office
  • Sessions offered by experts from Montana State University, the Montana Municipal Interlocal Authority, the Montana League of Cities and Towns, practicing experts in municipal government, and knowledgeable trainers from the public sector who work directly with local government
  • Networking opportunities with your colleagues in an atmosphere of professional growth and support
  • Professional development—work towards state MMCT&FOA certification and national IIMC clerk and APT treasurer/finance officer certification 

 

The Clerks, Treasurers, & Finance Officers program is held in conjunction with the Elected Officials Workshop and the Jim Tillotson Service Program for city attorneys. Participants will have the opportunity to attend combined sessions with the elected officials to learn about topics that have an impact on everyone's duties.

Fees: 4-Day Registration:  $415;  $515 for non-members
  2.5-Day Registration:  $275;  $375 for non-members

REGISTRATION:

  • Your registration will not be complete until all three steps are complete.
  • When you fill out the registration form in Step 2, you will be asked if you have read and understand the MMCT&FOA Code of Ethics. Regardless of whether you're a member of MMCT&FOA, please take a moment to read the Code and familiarize yourself with the Association's expectations and standards of professionalism.

Once you have an eXtension account, you can access the eXtension education portal at 2024 Montana Municipal Institute Education Portal

You can access the sample practice quiz and certification track options and information, and we will update the education portal with agenda information and session handouts as they become available. 

Please make sure you can access this site and are comfortable navigating it on whatever device you will use before the start of Institute.

STEP 3: 

Submit registration payment.

Our payment portal has been updated.

  • When you naviagte to the Registration Payment site, you will find several payment options to choose from.
  • Please read the choices carefully and select the appropriate amount based on how many days you plan to attend and whether you are a member of MMCT&FOA.

If you would like to attend but your municipality is unable to support the cost, please consider applying for an Education Scholarship offered through the Montana Municipal Clerks, Treasurers, and Finance Officers Association. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:

**Participants are responsible for booking and paying for their own hotel rooms.**

A block of state rate rooms is reserved at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort under the block name MT Municipal Clerks, Treasurers, & Finance Officers. Reservations can be made by calling 406-797-3241.

Any remaining unreserved rooms at Fairmont will be released at noon on Friday, April 5th, 2024.

There is an additional block of rooms reserved at state rates at The Forge in Anaconda under the block name MMCTFOA. Reservations can be made online or by calling the hotel at 406-797-4100.

Any remaining unreserved rooms at The Forge will be released on Friday, March 29th, 2024.

CONFERENCE CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY:

Written notice of cancellation must be received by the Local Government Center no later than Friday, April 26, 2024 to receive a full refund of registration fees. No refund will be made for cancellations received after April 26, 2024. Substitution of a participant is encouraged over cancellation and may be made at any time.
