The Montana Weatherization Training Center provides technical training and consulting services to the weatherization and home performance industries. We’re funded by the Department of Energy Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), and by private organizations who represent the construction, HVAC, and insulation industries. Our mission is to teach professionals how to design, build, and maintain safe, efficient, and healthy buildings.

Many of our classes are delivered in our tricked-out training facility in Bozeman, Montana, typically hosting 8-15 students for training events that span 1-4 days. We utilize a blended and hands-on learning approach that allows us to deliver training in the classroom, laboratory, and at field sites. We also offer much of our content in online formats too, that benefit from our years of experience with WxTV—a high quality TV-style production—right up to the present with ourWxLive series that covers topical and relevant subjects in real time and with a rotating cast of experts. Our students are technicians, contractors, program managers, and design professionals, most of whom are in the middle of their careers and looking for continuing education and professional advancement.

We’re proud of our legacy at the Montana Weatherization Training Center as we now enter our fourth decade of service to the tradespeople who build and maintain America’s housing. We’re always in evolution as we move our course content and delivery to an ever-more-relevant set of offerings. We hope you can join us soon—in the face-to-face or virtual worlds—as we create the future of sustainable housing.
