Lead Inspector Risk Assessor Initial Certification

Course Description

This 40 hour course meets the requirements of the EPA regarding certification of Lead Inspectors and Lead-Based Paint Risk Assessors. Training consists of lead history and contamination sources; federal, state and local regulations; lead health effects; legal responsibilities; record keeping; identifying and controlling hazards; inspection and sampling methods; sampling procedures including X-ray Fluorescence (XRF); risk assessment, plan development, and reporting.

Lead Inspector Risk Assessor Refresher

Course Description

Prerequisite: A current Lead Risk Assessor (MT, WY, SD, or Region 8 Tribal) certification, current and in good standing by the start of class, and with no more than 18 months until expiration of the 3-year certification.

This is an 8 hour class. This course addresses all recent changes or updates to federal lead regulations as well as reviewing EPA and HUD standards and procures covered in the initial training.

Montana Asbestos Inspector Certificate

Course Description

The initial certification course to become a Montana Asbestos Inspector is 24 hours. The course offers instruction in tools and techniques for working safely and obtaining samples for testing in housing with asbestos containing materials. You will learn how to comply with DEQ’s Asbestos Control Program as well as qualify for accreditation as an Asbestos Inspector through DEQ.

The refresher course is 4 hours.

Respiratory Protection and Fit Testing

Course Description

This 4 hour course combines classroom instruction in respiratory protection with respirator fit testing for both new respirators (available at class) and existing. This serves as the annual fit adjustment and training for workers to meet OSHA requirements.
