By Brent Lloyd, GEAR UP Graduate Assistant
It's that time of year once again! Registration for both summer and fall semesters is open and all of our current GEAR UP students should be registered for new classes utilizing priority registration that is available to all GEAR UP students! Summer courses are an excellent option for students to catch up classwork as they adjust to college life and expectations and can be a useful tool for getting ahead on coursework, whether it's for a student's major or for fulfilling the CORE requirements in every student's curriculum. If students are ever curious about the courses they have ahead of them in their chosen major or the areas of their CORE requirement they still have to complete, using the DegreeWorks tool in my info will allow students to see a clear picture of the path ahead, and we encourage all of our students to use the tool regularly to check their progress!

Meet a GEAR UP Student
Caroline Spotted Eagle
Caroline is a freshman from Browning, Montana currently studying pre-medicine at MSU with a goal of becoming a dental hygienist. Caroline was inspired to attend college by her father John, who always reminded her to put education first and sacrificed so Caroline and her siblings could thrive and shine. Caroline has also been inspired by her sister Nevaeh, who is preparing to graduate with a nursing degree and is a role model for her. Prior to attending MSU, Caroline participated in GEAR UP since she was a sophomore in high school, and was a member of the varsity cheer squad. At MSU, Caroline is involved with the American Indian Center, loves to craft and crochet, and enjoys taking mindful walks around campus and Bozeman!
