MUSI 114 | MWF, 12:00-12:50pm | Dr. Jeannie Little
University Band is a great ensemble for those students who want to keep playing in college. The group is non-auditioned, and is made-up of a mix of academic majors from all around campus and talented townspeople. Music majors who are not accepted into Wind Symphony may use this ensemble to fulfill large ensemble requirements. The music is selected from the body of standard wind band repertoire and the most popular/fun band pieces. The University Band is intended for members who have a minimum of a high school level playing ability.
How to Join
There is no audition or registration requirement to play in the University Band. To join, simply show up to the first rehearsal. We rehearse in room 130 of Howard Hall (located across 11th ave from the MSU duck pond) on M/W/F from12:00-12:50pm. MSU does have instruments available for use by students participating in the ensembles. More information will be available on the first day of rehearsal.
