Core Facilities Grant Program (CFGP)

The purpose of the CFGP is to support core facilities that serve as critical infrastructure for the research and scholarly enterprise. Moreover, these core facilities often compliment the educational and outreach efforts that also underpin our land-grant mission.

Proposal Enhancement Grant (PEG) program

The PEG program is designed to increase the competitiveness and rates of success for research proposals submitted by MSU PIs and co-PIs to external sponsors. Full-time faculty and research scientists are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted starting July 1, 2022, and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Research Collaborative Grant Program (RCGP) 

NEW! The Research Collaborative Grant is an opportunity to create research collaboratives of two or more faculty from any department/discipline to catalyze research and scholarly activities around a theme chosen by the group. Themes may be broad, such as risk, rurality, or wellbeing; or more specific, such as a cultural study, engineering problem, or bioscience innovation.

Research Expansion Funds (REF) Grant Program

The Research Expansion Funds (REF) program will support new preliminary data or the development of new research methods or procedures that will be used in subsequent proposals to external funding sources. Full-time faculty at Montana State University who have earned terminal degrees are eligible to apply.
Fall deadline: Sept. 25, 2023. Spring deadline: Feb. 12, 2024.

Scholarship & Creativity (S&C) Grant Program

The Scholarship & Creativity Grant (S&C) program supports scholarship and creative activity in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Full-time faculty at Montana State University who have earned terminal degrees are eligible to apply. Fall deadline: Sept. 25, 2023. Spring deadline: February 12, 2024.
