MSU RESEARCHERS SEEK TO OPTIMIZE ALGAE BIOMATERIALS PRODUCTION
With a series of recently awarded grants totaling $6.4 million, Montana State University scientists and their collaborators are exploring ways to optimize the use of algae for making biofuel and other products while removing carbon dioxide from the air.
MSU RECEIVES $6 MILLION TO CONTINUE NATIONAL CENTER FOR RURAL ROAD SAFETY
With $6 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation, MSU will continue to offer services for improving road safety in Montana and rural areas nationwide. The new four-year grant provides comprehensive funding for the National Center for Rural Road Safety.

Doctoral candidate Brian Pettygrove will present “Characterization of Host-Pathogen Interactions During Early Staphylococcus aureus Biofilm Formation on Surfaces” on Wednesday, Jan. 26. His research looks at the early immune response following implantation of biomaterials.
FORD FELLOW MALLORY MOLINA PIONEERING A NEW METHOD TO SEARCH FOR BLACK HOLES
Molina is pioneering a way to look for massive black holes in small galaxies known as dwarf galaxies. Black holes are elusive because researchers are often only able to detect the total light coming from distant galaxies.
