Description of Request

Submitted By: Kirk Lubick, Director, Office of Research Compliance

In 2019, the Office of Research Compliance (ORC) was relocated out of Montana Hall and into Hamilton Hall. Since then, staff has been sharing office space, which has not been ideal given the nature of their work. Members of the ORC team regularly engage in confidential and/or sensitive conversations and meetings regarding Institutional Review Board (IRB), safety, misconduct, animal welfare etc., which makes it difficult to conduct business in the current arrangement without violating privacy. Thus, the proposal is to allocate a suite of offices to ORC on the first floor of Lewis Hall.

Several vacancies on the first floor of Lewis Hall (basement, 102A, 113B, 113D, 114) could help facilitate the move of ORC into Lewis Hall, while there are opportunities for existing occupants in 101A, 101C, 101D, and 101E/F to be consolidated in other locations within the building. Lewis Hall is adjacent to many labs and facilities that ORC accesses on the regular basis, and will open office space in Hamilton Hall for future occupants.

Resolution
