Description of Request

Submitted By: Planning, Design, & Construction

University Facilities Management is preparing for upcoming development along 7th Avenue for future
academic facilities to support the University's mission. The entire Facilities operation, including Work
Control and campus trades functions, will be relocated, and consolidated to make way for new building
construction. Faculty Court has been identified as the new location for these operations; therefore, Campus
Planning has inventoried space within Faculty Court modulars and Faculty Court houses and has been
working with each Faculty Court occupant to identify relocation opportunities.
The Montana National Science Foundation EPSCoR team is currently located in 1605 S. 5th Avenue, which
is scheduled to be demolished as part of the Facilities yard relocation project. Montana NSF EPSCoR is a
partnership between several colleges and universities throughout the state, but is currently hosted at MSU.
The space needs for the program include three private offices for the associate director of the program,
project lead, and administrative support staff, as well as access to meeting space to hold group meetings
when visiting intuitions travel to MSU. After researching available space on campus, staff recommends
allocating three vacant offices in CFT5 to the group. CFT5 contains shared conference rooms and a
classroom within the building that can accommodate their need for meeting space. There are no other
competing requests for the vacant space being proposed.
