    President Waded Cruzado
    • President Waded Cruzado called the meeting to order.
  • Approval of Minutes for October 1st, 2014
    • Bob Lashaway moved to approve the minutes for October 1, 2014; Terry Leist seconded the minutes and they were approved unanimously.
  • University Wide Information/ Announcements
    • President Cruzado announced that Friday, November 7, 2014 was Celebrate Ag Day at MSU and Dean Glenn Duff shared additional logistical information for the weekend's activities.
  • New Items
    • Faculty Staff Waivers
      Leslie Taylor, Legal Counsel
      • Leslie Taylor disclosed that the Board of Regents requires a Faculty Staff Waiver policy, thus MSU is working to have one adopted. Greg Kegel asked if this policy covered other campuses, and while it is currently set to only cover MSU Bozeman, Leslie welcomed discussions to have other campuses adopt it as well. This policy will be posted for Comment for 30 days. The item will be voted on at the December 3rd meeting.
    • Employee Background
      Check Leslie Taylor, Legal Counsel
      • This policy was re-written to reflect that an Employee Background Check can last for 24 months, as oppose to how it is currently written at 18 months. This item will be voted on at the December 3rd meeting.

    • Health Promotion to Office of Health Advancement
      Marci Torres, Assistant Director, Student Health Service
      • The change in the name of the Health Promotion Office to the Office of Health Advancement was up for vote. Matt Caires moved to change the name; Bob Hietala seconded the motion. The name change passed unanimously.

    • 2014 Engagement Scholarship/ W.K. Kellogg Foundation Engagement Awards, Exemplary Project Announcement
      Kim Obbink, Director, Extended University
      • Kim Obbink provided an introduction about the 2014 Engagement Scholarship/ W. K. Kellogg Foundation Engagement Awards, which are sponsored by APLU. In collaboration with President Waded Cruzado, Kim announced that MSU's own Towne's Harvest Program was recognized as an "Exemplary Project" by the award selection committee. President Cruzado shared this honor with the program supervisors, Alison Harmon and Bill Dyer, by giving them the plaque issued by APLU.
    • Strategic Plan Update - Learning Goal
      Chris Fastnow, Director, Office of Planning & Analysis
      • Throughout the year, Chris Fastnow, chair of Planning Council, will present progress reports on the university's strategic plan goals. This month she provided an update on the learning goal, incorporating metrics which showed course completion/comprehension. MSU's Strategic Plan, "Mountains and Minds: Learners and Leaders," is intended to guide and inform those making strategic decisions.     • Norm Asbjornson Innovation Center - Project Process Update

      • Walt Banziger showed slides indicating the progress and planning that has been taking place for the Norm Asbjornson Innovation center.
