I am a Montana native and began my law enforcement career in the United States Air Force in 1994.  I became a Peace Officer in the State of Montana in 2006 while serving with the Dillon Police Department and Beaverhead County Sheriff’s Office where I had been working in patrol.  I will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree while working at Montana State University.  I have been a member of the United State Air Force Reserve since 2004.  I am honored to have been selected in 2013 to serve as a police officer at Montana State University.  Outside of work I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and friends hunting, fishing, hiking and camping.

I am a native of Virginia, but Montana has been my home since 1999. I began working for the department near the end of 2000 in the Parking Services division. In 2004 I applied for a sworn position and was lucky to be offered a position. I hold several law enforcement instructor certifications and thoroughly enjoy teaching and learning new skills. In 2009 I was promoted to Patrol Sergeant and in 2011 transferred to investigations as the Detective Sergeant . My hobbies include mountain biking, backpacking, scuba diving, fishing and metal working.

I am a certified Field Training Officer,  a certified Crime Scene Manager, an evidence processing technician, and a public education and community outreach specialist. I investigate violent crimes against people and major property crimes, with my primary focus being sex crimes and escalated relationship violence. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from MSU. When I’m not working, I love to hike with my husband, fish, travel, bake, and spend time with friends.

I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in Fish and Wildlife Management in 2010 from MSU. I spent several years working with USGS, National Geographic, BLM, the state of Montana and NASA researching Mexican Spotted owls, Grizzly bears, Trumpeter swans, ungulates, hare and various avian species in addition to paleoecology across the world. I decided to enter the law enforcement field as a 911 dispatcher in May 2012 and I was hired as a Patrol Officer in August 2012. I am currently a Detective for the department and one of two female Detectives for the Gallatin Valley. I love my job every day and I look forward to carrying out my career here in beautiful Bozeman. On my free time, I am an avid hiker/backpacker. I love the outdoors, camping, fishing, kayaking and exploring new places.

I grew up on our family ranch outside of Broadus, Montana. In 2015 I graduated from Powder River County High School. I spent my first year of college in Missoula, but quickly realized UM wasn't for me. I transferred to MSU in the fall of 2016 and I'm currently a senior in the Construction Engineering Technology program. I was lucky to get employed at the MSU Police Department in November 2016, and look forward to coming to work every day!

I began my law enforcement career as a deputy sheriff for the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office in 1999.  After several tours of duty for the Montana Army National Guard, I left law enforcement for several active duty assignments and have recently returned.  I am excited to work at my alma mater from which I graduated in 1995 with a BS in Physical Education.  I also hold a Master’s Degree in Business and Organizational Security Management.  I still serve in the Montana Army National Guard and am proud of the 22 years of service I have given to this great state and the United States of America.  In my spare time, I enjoy skiing, fishing, hunting, and attending various levels of sporting events in and out of the state.

I worked 25 years with the Bozeman Police Department where I served as a Detective, Field Training Officer, T.A.S.E.R. Instructor and Motorcycle Officer.  I retired from there in 2010 to join the Montana State University Police Department. I joined the Adopt-a-Cop program immediately because I believe in the concept of promoting positive relationships between the police and students.  I am still a Taser Instructor and enjoy teaching. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree. In my off hours I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, camping, sports, movies and working with youth.  I look forward to many more years of service with the University Police

I originally started my path in the United States Marine Corps and I have been around the world several times over and loved the many cultures and countries I have visited. In 1998 I joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and had a great career with a great agency. I retired from LVMPD in 2018. Though I will miss Las Vegas and my many friends and family, one of my true loves is the mountains and outdoors, and Bozeman has it all. I hope to have a great career with the staff, faculty, students of MSU, as well as the community! I spend most of my free time tinkering on my vehicles, hiking, 4x4ing, grilling, shooting, and just enjoying life in general....All after a cup of coffee of course!
